Without the Pole It’s Just Dancing

Pole dancing is a sport, or so say the women who do it, there’s even a movement to make it an Olympic sport, unlike your normal trip to the local strip club on a Wednesday afternoon — I know, you go just for the lunch buffet — the competitions for pole dancing are serious and don’t involve stripping.

This competition in Moscow doesn’t feature any stripping but it does feature the worst thing that can happen to a pole dancer. Well, besides Dennis Rodman coming into the strip club…

Lol! Damn that’s gotta hurt like a bitch! Funny post, but I kinda object to it too… I’m one of those ‘pole fitness’ dancers lol and I get your cynicism, it doesn’t seem all that different to stripping at first I suppose…Kinda a plug I know, but I found your post after looking for related posts to my own post on pole dancing. If you have a minute (or two) you might wanna check it out. It does have pics of pretty girls on poles to look at (!) but I’m trying to show a different side to pole, and just maybe you’ll think differently after reading it! It’s at http://modernwonderlust.wordpress.com/2009/12/04/the-tale-of-the-pole-and-the-g-string/ if you feel inclined šŸ™‚

The Slanch Report has started an online petition asking the MLB Network to air the Dock Ellis no-hitter he threw on June 12, 1970 against the San Diego Padres. The moment was a seminal piece of baseball history and is certainly worthy of being rerun.

Please join us in this cause and sign the petition below so we can all share in this special and fantastic moment of baseball history. THANKS!
