One Second Left…He Shoots!…He…!

I’m not 100% convinced that this video is real, but it is really NEAT so let’s take a look. In it Mike Nowoslawski, a 9th grader makes a pretty awesome last second shot, he apparently scored 28 points in the game. I’d be more excited, but that shot ruined the point spread on the game and he cost me a bundle.

Iguodala Has 90 Foot Range

Yes, the half was over and so the shot didn’t count, but Andre Iguodala made a very impressive full-court shot last night against the Denver Nuggets. Look at how effortless he tosses that ball and then swish! Right through the net.

Kobe Bryant is Talented at Basketball

One of the reasons why I dislike Kobe Bryant is that, like with Alex Rodriguez, he comes off as fake and his public persona seems totally forced and manufactured. Having said that, (nod, Larry David) he is absolutely SICK at basketball, take these two plays from Sunday’s Lakers/Thunder game, Kobe may be a giant douche but the man has skills.

Kevin Garnett Has Some Deep Range

In the waning seconds of the first half in Wednesday’s Celtics/Warriors game Kevin Garnett grabbed a rebound and, after a nifty spin move, launched up a 75-footer. The ball was definitely still in his hands when time expired and the refs rightly waved off the basket, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t totally cool. Because it was. Watch.

Nowitzki Hits the Game-Winner in OT

Dirk Nowitzki is really good at basketball, for example, in the waning seconds of last night’s Mavericks/Bucks contest he took the ball to the foul line and despite a defender being right in his face, Dirk NAILS the shot to give the Mavs the win in overtime. Awesome!

Rajon Goes Over the Backboard

Fresh off agreeing to a 5-year $55 million contract, Rajon Rondo and the 4-0 Celtics took on the woeful Philadelphia 76’ers last night. The Celtics ran the Sixers all over the floor, the Celts were kicking so much ass that their stars like Garnett barely logged any minutes; there simply was no need. One of the highlights of the game was this circus shot from Rondo over the backboard which reminds me of the old clip of Larry Bird doing the same.

Larry’s shot took place when I was all of 4, but I do remember seeing clips of it run constantly during Celts games and I spent a hell of a long time mastering that shot. For the record I fucking OWN that spot just behind the backboard.

Federer Does Good Work Between His Legs

Just prior to Roger Federer winning his semi-final match against Novak Djokovic on Sunday he managed to hit this fabulous shot to set himself up a Love-40 and match-point situation. The man swings a powerful stroke between his legs.

He’s really good at tennis.

His Balls are Deadly Accurate

The best video you’ll see of a Frenchman kicking a soccer ball into random objects that you’re likely to see ALL week; it’s a little long, but it’s all enjoyable.

Say what you want about the lameness in Frolfing (frisbee golfing), this is a really impressive throw no matter what.

Nothing But Net

There are few things more enjoyable in life than youth sports. You put a mustache on, bring a six-pack and a notepad so you can make a sports-book and BAM you got a fun Saturday. I’d have lost big bucks on this game, but, when you can see a shot like this, it’s almost all worth it.

Pretty awesome for 7th and 8th graders, although, someone should tell those kids that it all gets worse from here.

Nice Shots!

Since I can’t seem to stop posting soccer and hockey videos today, here’s another post with two pretty awesome shots one from each sport.

The first features Linus Omark a young Swedish forward playing in a friendly between his country and Switzerland. The game went into a shootout and this is one of the prettiest, sweetest shootout goals I’ve ever seen. Enjoy!

Then, here is an excellent long-range shot from the soccer world. Eat your heart out Beckham.

Who Says the CIT Isn’t Exciting

Since neither you, I, nor anyone else was going to watch the College Invitational Tournament, it’s likely that this awesome moment would normally be missed by most sports fans. That’s where I come in.

So, here is Bradley University taking on Oakland during the CIT. Bradley trailed most of the game but managed to get to tie the game with only a few seconds left. Unfortunately, Oakland managed to score again, going up 2 with only .9 seconds left, things didn’t look good for Bradley. They in-bound the ball to star player Chris Roberts’ hands and from about 75 feet away, he fires up a last ditch effort for the win. It’s here, so you can imagine what happens next.
