So Long WordPress, It’s Been Real!

So this is it! Starting today (hopefully) our new site is LIVE! Our move to the Bloguin family of blogs has been finalized and alas, our days on WordPress are over. I’ve enjoyed my time here, but there comes a point where all boys have to become men, and today is the Slanch Report’s bar mitzvah.

Don’t shed any tears though, our new site has an incredibly sick new design, plenty of fun exciting features and is going to revolutionize the way we blog, and the way everyone else does too.

Please check your bookmarks and update them if need be, the site’s address will remain Slanchreport.com, and these archives will remain, in perpetuity for your perusal, they are also available through the new site as well, so check it out.

A lot of exciting changes are going to be happening for the Slanch Report starting now, so jump on board as we take this little blog and turn it into domination. Viva the Slanch Report!

What’s Going On

Sorry gang, I’m in the woods today and won’t get a chance to throw any posts up unfortunately. However, I’ll be back at it late tomorrow afternoon and the new site is nearly ready so get ready! 2010: The Year of Slanch!

Big Changes are Coming to the Slanch Report

As the decade comes to a close, it’s finally time for the Slanch Report to undergo some changes. After 14 years of blogging and 42,082 posts, it’s nearly time for a whole new design for this blog. Stay tuned for the changes as they will knock you on your ass, and then beat you up. They are THAT bad-ass.

The biggest change is that we are joining the Bloguin network, which we are super excited for and think you will be too. Especially when you see the full redesign to the site that will correspond with our move.

We’ll have more on that in the coming days/weeks but in the meantime, why not check out this piece I wrote for my soon-to-be blog neighbor TheNatsBlog who are doing a roundup of each team’s offsesason and grading their Winter Meeting performance. I wrote about the San Diego Padres — who I hope trade Adrian Gonzalez to my Red Sox — and will have another piece on the Kansas City Royals coming up later. Definitely check out my piece and the rest of the roundups as a number of the Bloguin blogs are involved and it will give you a taste of the fantasticosity that is coming soon.

Hey Gang

So I know you like your updates fast and furious, but for the next 4 days or so they’re going to be more like slow and plodding. Most likely there won’t be much in the way of new items during the day, but there will be in the evening. I’ll try and get ahead as much as possible, but I’m also lazy and busy elder-caring and eating fresh seafood so…

But don’t worry, there WILL be new content everyday still.

I Know I’ve Been Remiss

I haven’t posted in DAYS, since I started this blog in March of 08 I haven’t taken as many days off as I just did. I apologize. I will say though that it has rejuvenated me and was well-needed. So get ready for a (hopefully) barrage of awesomeness coming at you today and every day hereafter until my death.

Buckle up.

Ugh

Raise your hand if you spent all night being chased by demons and psycho killers. Ok, it was just me then? Well, I’m exhausted and I simply don’t have the energy to try and blog right now. And blogging is easy.

Sigh.

I’ll try and get some up in the afternoon but it may not happen.

Hang On to Your Hats

I’m headed into the urban wilderness that is High Falls, NY and I’m simply not sure what the internet situation is going to be for this week. Most likely, there will be updates at some point in the evenings, but it is unlikely that there will be any day-time posts. You’ll have to make it through the work week somehow. Keep checking back though, if only to pad my stats!

Hugs and HJs!

I Suck

I’m headed out the door to loyal reader Garnold’s wedding. You too can have a Slanch appearance at your wedding, I’m fun, full of vigor and can always charm the parents. Unfortunately, I’ll be driving halfway across the country and the likelihood of any updates, or at least ones during the day are slim. Apologies all around. However, I still love (most of) you and will hold dearly to my heart these moments we share together.

Sign Our Petition!

The Slanch Report has started an online petition asking the MLB Network to air the Dock Ellis no-hitter he threw on June 12, 1970 against the San Diego Padres. The moment was a seminal piece of baseball history and is certainly worthy of being rerun.

Please join us in this cause and sign the petition below so we can all share in this special and fantastic moment of baseball history. THANKS!
