With opening day tantalizingly close, we’re going to present our predictions/evaluations of each division from now until Sunday’s opening night when we’ll present our playoff and award winner predictions. Since I know the dear readers would be lost without my prognostications, I am only too happy to serve them up to you. Hopefully you will have lots of thoughts about my evaluations and I urge you to chime in with your own comments, let the great debates begin!

i can’t believe i didn’t get a shout out for providing the quote. you’re WELCOME!
You are absolutely correct, you did give me this quote; and I am most thankful to you for it. Without this quote, the entire structure of my “This Year in Baseball” would crumble, it is the crux around which this piece rotates. We are all better off for it. Thank you and thank you Mr. Hornsby who, let’s remember; hit 43 hrs in 1924 with a .424 average, and that isn’t even considered his best season! Whatta ballplayer!
