Lou Piniella, swarmed in a press conference with media desperate for a quote regarding the “shocking” revelation that Sammy Sosa did steroids offers up this gem.
Ah Lou, is there anything you do that isn’t magnificent?
The Slanch Report has started an online petition asking the MLB Network to air the Dock Ellis no-hitter he threw on June 12, 1970 against the San Diego Padres. The moment was a seminal piece of baseball history and is certainly worthy of being rerun.
Please join us in this cause and sign the petition below so we can all share in this special and fantastic moment of baseball history. THANKS!

anything lou does that isn’t magnificent…. hmmmm.. how about manage the team picked by many to win the NL to only a 30-31 record thus far…
I blame soriano and aramis ramirez, with a healthy bit of marmol sucking, soto sucking and milton bradley sucking
whatevs, lou is better than shitty jerry manuel.
lou has to deal with derek lee’s mediocrity, the GOD AWFUL milton bradley signing, fukudome’s terrible play after his usual April/May success, injuries to aramis, zambrano, the inevitable rich harden set-backs, kevin gregg’s heart attack routine, soto’s bum shoulder, and mike fontenot remembering he’s mike fontenot.
also, soriano is pure garbage. he should be batting sixth in the line-up right now. maybe someone will be on base when he briefly wakes up to smack a homer once every 50 AB’s.
i’d say lou’s doing just fine. about as fine as the met’s…
