Buffalo Fans Wreck Players Lawn in Revenge

0721051gold1

As if things weren’t bad enough for Leodis McKelvin, after losing a fumble directly leading to the Patriots scoring the winning touchdown, when he returned to his home Tuesday in suburban Buffalo he found it vandalized by unhappy fans. On his lawn they spray-painted an obscenity, a giant phallus and the final score for the game 25-24.

Bills linebacker Kawika Mitchell was not amused and on his Twitter wrote: “W/ all the safety issues n the NFL its not funny at all. We have Fam at our homes to protect. If u show ur face on my prop Ill make sure I do everythin to keep my Fam safe.”

“Its my job to protect my home as it is the job of all home owners. Dont push the limit,” Mitchell wrote.

C’mon Bills fans, you know better than this. It’s a long season, if you’re going to vandalize the players homes after EVERY loss local hardware stores in the Buffalo area are going to run out of spray-paint very quickly. Besides, you’re taking spray-paint away from teenagers who want to do REAL vandalism.

And huffers, won’t anyone think of the huffers?!!?

They Know My Name!

Last night’s Patriots game didn’t go the way I expected it, but hey, who cares, a win is a win. Besides the most imp0rtant thing was the return of Tom Brady who, while shaky, did what he does best and told his teammates with 5 minutes left in the game exactly what he was going to do to get them their two scores. Then he did it!

Anyhoo, the Patriots’ friends at Gillete made this video to celebrate the 50th year of team. As someone who love LOVES Cheers there’s no way I could pass this one up.

My favorite part is the John Ratzenberger moment with the catatonic woman sitting next to him; could she possibly be more lifeless?

As someone who recently rewatched all of Cheers in order, if you haven’t watched much of the show you should get off your ass and do so beause it’s hilarious and holds up EXTREMELY well.

What Happened to Just Giving a High-5?

344666Honduran soccer players Brayan Beckeles and Orlin Peralta got together after scoring a goal in a league game to celebrate. According to Beckeles the cameraman just got a weird angle, making it look like they are kissing. After all, as Beckeles told a local newspaper, “I am a man.”

Sure, that’s not being disputed. However, you are clearly kissing your teammate.

Pole Vaulting Does it AGAIN!

I don’t know what it is, somehow pole vaulting just manages to attract some of the best-looking women out there. The other track and field events must be super jealous. We’ve already seen the US, Australia and Russia (NSFW) toss out some incredibly hot specimens, now it is Greece’s turn.

Here is Erika Prezerakou who may not have the total package like Ms. Stokke or Ms. Adams, but she won’t be left behind either, not with a body (or booty) like that!

An Awesome Tradition With Some Fabulous Clothes

mongolia01It’s a tradition dating back over 800 years, Mongolia’s Naadam is a festival held in every city across the nation celebrating masculinity and heroism featuring the three “manly” sports: archery, horse racing and wrestling.

The wrestlers, clad in open jackets — instituted reportedly after a woman won the event hundreds of years ago — leather boots and a sweet bikini bottom do a ceremonial dance before entering the ring as means of displaying power and grace.

mongolia05

After the wrestling comes the archery — which was canceled this year due to heavy winds — and then the main event, the horse race. The 17 mile race was originally thought up by Genghis Khan as a military exercise and to celebrate the mighty Mongol armies.

Some of the riders are as young as 5-years-old and this year’s contest featured only one female rider. Most of the riders go bareback and without shoes to protect the horses. This year’s winner, Ganbaatar Tserenpuntsang at the ripe old age of 11 has done this race several times already.

When Tserenpuntsang arrives at the rope-line finish, covered in dust and sweat the crowds swarmed him. Both the dust and the sweat of the horse are considered lucky and so the crowd anxiously tries to get some to dab on their foreheads. The winning rider receives a cash prize and honor and the winning horse gets a medal.  The entire festival serves as a rite of passage for Mongolian males and honors the past heritage of Mongolia.

Rode Hard and Put Away Wet

The University of Virginia Cavaliers took to their home field this past weekend, prior to kickoff as the team was getting ready to run out, first came the team mascot, a fabulously dressed Cavalier on a horse. This man rode his steed hard, apparently TOO hard because it doesn’t quite go how he expected.

Nails’ Precious Memories on Sale

DykstraRing1Despite being hyped as being quite the money manager, Lenny Dykstra’s second career as a finance guru has collapsed in recent months with him being forced into bankruptcy. Now, as a means to try and raise some money, auctioneers are planning on selling a number of memorabilia items that Nails left at a Beverly Hills pawnshop.

Among the items available are his 1986 Mets World Series ring and a trophy from the series. Advanced guesses place the items as being valued for more than $20,000.

DykstraRing2Scheduled to take place in Texas and online October 1 and 2, the auction being held by Heritage Auctions Inc provides the chance for Mets fans to own a piece of history. Hark back to the days when they actually WON games, as opposed to being officially eliminated as of last night.

Meanwhile, Lenny reportedly owes more than $31 million to debtors and has a mere $50,000 in assets. I’m no financial expert myself but that seems like a big problem.

The NFL is Back and Spectacular!

With a full slate of games on yesterday, the opportunity for some incredible football plays was out there. Miami’s Greg Camarillo and Denver’s Brandon Stokely provided the two best of the day. First there’s Camarillo’s circus catch where he isn’t able to initially corral the ball but stays concentrated and never lets it hit the ground.

Then, Brandon Stokely somehow, someway is in the perfect position to scoop up a tipped pass and take it to the house, scoring the game-winning touchdown for his Broncos. Even better, you get Gus Johnson on the call which means the excitement level automatically gets jacked up about 15 times.

That’s a Rather Large Margin of Victory

2009_football_guide_coverStephen F. Austin University on Saturday took their 0-1 record in to Nacogoches, Texas for their game against Texas College. The TC Steers started the game off strong driving all the way to the SFA 3 yard line until senior Cory Barlow intercepted the ball.

It would be the only good drive of the game for TC as SFA saw their 2 quarterbacks combine for 438 yards passing and 8(!!!!!) touchdowns en route to their 92-0 win. At halftime the score was 50-0 and SFA set a new school record for most points scored in a single game.

In total, the Lumberjacks piled up 603 yards of offense, holding Texas to a mere 92 for the whole game.

Yowzers. Looks like Texas was a wee bit overmatched.

Almost Made It

This isn’t new — it’s from 2006 — but it is hilarious. What better way to start off a Monday than by enjoying some drunk LSU fans, a slip-‘n-slide and disaster?

Steve Blass Suddenly Becomes Accurate Again

SteveBlass2It’s usually an honor to have something named after you, unless of course you’re former major leaguer Steve Blass who inexplicably lost the ability to accurately throw a ball and has since seen any player who loses the skill be said to have “Steve Blass Disease.”

Blass won 19 games in 1972 but in 1973 his control went downhill and he lost the ability to locate. Within two years he was out of the game.

This past Thursday Blass participated in the annual Pirates alumni golf outing along with several other former players where he managed a very impressive feat; Blass scored TWO holes-in-one in ONE round.

“It’s the first time I signed more autographs than [Hall of Famer Bill Mazeroski],” Blass said, “And it’ll probably be the last.”

Blass and his group of 5 started on the back nine and so the first one happened on the par-3 15th hole when Blass powered an 8-iron through the 154 yard hole. The second ace came on the 7th hole, a 175-yard par-3.

According to Golf Digest, the odds of a golfer making two holes-in-one in the same round are 1 in 67 million.

“I can finally make some kind of ball go where I want it to,” Blass said. “Maybe it’s a sign from above that I should start pitching again.”

Federer Does Good Work Between His Legs

Just prior to Roger Federer winning his semi-final match against Novak Djokovic on Sunday he managed to hit this fabulous shot to set himself up a Love-40 and match-point situation. The man swings a powerful stroke between his legs.

He’s really good at tennis.
