It’s Called a “Free Throw” Because It’s Easy

Rajon Rondo makes tons of plays on the basketball court, but his biggest weakness is putting the ball through the hoop; it’s partly what makes him such a good point guard because it causes him to find his teammates more and get them the ball. However, when you get fouled and have a free throw you need to sink it. Instead, during last night’s clunker against the Orlando Magic Rondo took a different approach.

Not to be a d-bag, but Rondo actually had the second-best field goal percentage of any point guard in the NBA, finishing only .1% behind Troy Parker. Also, he finished 21st overall in the league with 50.5% shooting. So your statement: “his biggest weakness is putting the ball through the hoop” should read: “his biggest weakness is putting the ball through the hoop when he goes to the line” as he did have a pretty awful 62.6% free-throw shooting.

    I’m nit-picky!

while i see your point, it is not out of line to say that of all his skills on the basketball court, shooting is his worst. everything else he does is much better

I would argue that his biggest weaknesses are FT-shooting and turn-overs(tied for 8th-worst per-game avg in the league this season). When he goes to the hoop, he scores half the time. Doesn’t sound bad to me… plus, you’re not quite being fair. He did miss those two shots, and badly, but they are the only 2 he missed yesterday, he was 10 for 12 from the line.

I will give you that his shooting has been rough in the playoffs, but you didn’t clarify that.
