Arizona Diamondbacks center fielder Chris Young only two years ago nearly went 30-30 in his rookie season. Instead of building upon that extraordinary debut, Young has seen his average plummet to Mendoza levels and his power and steals dropping off too. So, in the 9th inning of last night’s game one cute fan figured out exactly what it is he needed, a hug! So she did the only rational thing, jumped onto the field and gave him one. Fortunately for her, the security forces were much much nicer than they normally are to a dude who gets on the field and took her away without tackling her.

It’s a shame when such a cute girl needs to be arrested. Although, handcuffs can be fun…
that’s fucking sexist. every single man who runs out on the field gets ultimately tackled and rough-handed. it’s bad enough that everyone just assumes it’s “stupid, drunk, overly macho” men that run out on a sports field. but here’s a woman, and a double standard is established. nice.
i’m just saying, until we truly treat women and men as equals, there will never ever ever be true gender equality.
the funniest is when people actually suggest that someday we might have another military draft in this country. unless it’s 50/50 men/women, it can’t ever happen.
congratulations, myummers, on not making any sort of cohesive point.
this girl was not putting up a fight or running away from the guards. not to mention she got a pretty stiff grab from the guard. why would they have had to tackle her? she wasn’t going anywhere? when you see dudes getting tackled, it’s typically because they are being evasive or violent and tackling them is required to actually get them off the field.
oh wait, you had a point about gender equality, right? some kind of sweeping statement you wanted to make on the basis of this clip?
you blew it.
Women are really good in the military so don’t worry, we can still have a big, awesome draft! I know slanch loves drafts and would agree with me here.
Plus, this wasn’t a streaker. I’m sure if she was nuded up the security team would do everything in their power to tackle her, and maybe tickle her.
oh yeah, nice point, because ALL the men who run on the field:
-put up a fight
-start throwing punches
-are dangerous
have you ever even seen a man run on the field? apparently not, since you seem to think they are violent and thusly need to be violently subdued. they are drunk, sloppy, and occasionally half-naked.
go ahead, keep perpetuating double standards and stereotypes, if that’s what suits you. i suppose you were in favor of opening fire on unarmed students at kent state in 1970?
keep on reaching for the stars– er, a point.
yes, i’ve been in MLB attendance when fans have rushed the field on numerous occasions.
you still aren’t making any sense. you made the male/female generalization, not me. any dangerous intruder on a field should be met with appropriate force. in the case of this video, there was no imminent threat or resistance, so tackling (man or woman) wouldn’t have made sense.
also, i don’t know what you are saying about kent state, since that seems to give more credence to your “point” (tackle everyone equally hard, right?) than mine (tackle anyone — man or woman — who is asking for it).
also, at least 3 trained professional stadium security guards fun onto the field to subdue any (man or woman) person who runs on the field during a game. and any fan who runs on the field can not and does not have any weapons at all on their person. how do we know that? well, it’s thanks to stadium security doing a diligent job of frisking every single person who comes in to the stadium for any illegal objects or weapons. at least the guys, anyway. which if anything proves that women should be tackled as well as men, since they’re more likely to have snuck a weapon in.
to what brilliant generalization about women can we attribute your assertion that women are more likely to sneak weapons into sporting events?
not that i’m arguing the opposite, i’m just dying to know your logic…
…which i’m sure will be colorful, shall we say?
