Red Sox over Dbacks in 6

I’m assuming you’ve placed the Red Sox on top of the East and the Athletics at the bottom of the West based solely on the fact that Emil Brown doesn’t know how to run the bases in a situational manner. Did he learn nothing from Spring Training? Did he think making the 2nd out at 3rd base when you’re the tying run in the 10th inning was a smart decision? Aren’t we supposed to be showing the Pacific Rim how baseball is supposed to be played? If I’m Billy Beane, I’m leaving Emil Brown in Japan. I don’t remember reading anything in ‘Moneyball’ about boneheaded baserunning.
Emil Brown is part of the A’s commitment to youth.
Isn’t one of the cardinal rules of baseball to never make an out at third in extra innings?
I blame bud selig
bold prediction, my friend, about the rays (the rays!) beating out toronto. stranger things have happened though. can’t wait to see if they really are the team to beat in a few years. god i wish torre had gone to manage there!
heres the thing about the devil rays, they are better than you think
not only that, but this year they go above 500, i think like 86 wins
their young pitching is coming along, their hitting is going to be really good and they are dangerous.
book it, devil rays in the playoffs 2010
2010 – i definitely buy that. and though i’ll never be anything but a diehard red sox fan, i’ll be cheering for them in the post-season . . . until we face them, of course.
Moneyball doesn’t discuss baserunning blunders b/c it is a curse on the A’s started by Jeter’s nutso play at home in the playoffs. The A’s ran themselves out of a couple playoff series’… and they deserve it this year for signing Emil Brown. He should be playing in Japan, but not for a MLB team.
Predictions:
I think you’re a little off here. My picks make the following changes:
Blue Rays over Devil Rays
White sox over Twins
Indians over Tigers
Angels over Mariners
A’s over Rangers
Phillies over Mets and Braves
Brewers over Reds
Rockies over Dodgers
Padres over Dodgers
