Not to Keep Piling On But…

The Nationals expect that Shawn Hill, who was likely going to be the #1 starter for the Nats (Ugh,) is not going to break camp with the team. I like GM Jim Bowden’s approach here, generally mediocre pitcher, combined with arm surgeries just this past November, sounds like an ace to me!

“My little fastball goes just 85/I had three surgeries now I can’t vie”

You obviously know absolutely nothing about this guy. Gotta love blogs…any Tom, Dick or Harry can have a say at just about any topic he knows jack about and feel like a hero.

Good on ya. Keep up the good work champ.

well, i’d say when you are expecting someone with a grand total of 143 IP in the majors who he is a right handed pitcher and had surgery on his right forearm, right elbow, and left shoulder just this past November, it makes me think that maybe he’s not the right person to lead you into glory.

Do I personally know Shawn Hill, no? But neither do you, and I’m sure he knows that he is a less than league average pitcher, so he’ll be fine.

Fortunately, my name is neither tom, dick, OR harry, but I am a hero so thanks for the recognition!

You’ve proven my point…you clearly know nothing about this guy or myself for that matter. I guess being a relative doesn’t count as knowing a guy these days.

I suppose Randy’s comment’s yesterday about “wishing he had his stuff when he was playing” accounts for nothing also. Granted Shawn has had a run of bad luck in terms health in recent years (many of the issues unrelated by the way) but he’s a serious contender when health is not an issue.

It’s hard to argue that the guy isn’t the Nats top pitcher when even injured he’s throwing better stuff than the rest of the squad.

Let’s hope the health issues are behind Shawn and this will be his year.

Do yourself a favour and don’t pretend to know what a guy like Shawn is thinking. It just makes you look like an idiot.

Hey, I’m all in favor of Shawn Hill being good, but I’d say the odds and his team are negatives against it. That said, the Nationals still are going to suck and their pitching staff is a mess. And if he’s throwing better, even when injured that just says a lot about the quality of the Nats’ staff.

As for knowing nothing about you, well, since I have never met you, you randomly came to this blog and have yet to give me your full bio, you are right, I know nothing about you, but then you know nothing about me. Maybe I’m the doctor who performed his surgeries. Maybe Shawn stole the last can of corn from me at the supermarket and this is my dastardly revenge.

Does this mean we won’t be facebook friends?

Although your over-confident attempt at wit does have a strange redeeming quality to it, alas I do not see facebook in our future.

I am not a member of friendster so I think it’s safe to rule that one out as well. I will however check back on occasion to see if by some miracle I might just find a little gem amongst your little blog. A diamond in the rough perhaps…

I do hope you will keep coming back, and who knows, maybe you’ll convince me about Shawn.

Wanna put me up in DC when I go to see a game?

You do realize that just because Shawn plays for DC means that he and his family live in DC….not the case. You being such an oracle should know such things. Tisk tisk.

Sunny TO is where we call home.

Hmmm… soda… nah, water… boring… purple stuff? Sunny TO!!! Yes! Your mom is the best!

April, its easy to pretend to be related to someone and go around the internet defending them. However, there’s a difference between a rabid fan, a family member, and a stalker. That difference is the ability to produce Shawn Hill autographed jerseys. A rabid fan already has one, the stalker made their own, but the family member must provide one to others as proof.

i.e. mail slanch a (framed) signed jersey or be forever un-trustworthy!

p.s. what round did you take Shawn Hill in your fantasy draft?

    best flamewar ever.

april is lucky that someone as under the radar as shawn hill is a relative. poor lass would probably be totally mad by now if her relative was carl pavano, mike hampton, mark prior or rich harden.

also, is TO toronto? do you know scott pilgrim?
