Angels Futility

I heard these stats on WEEI and haven’t been able to track them down yet, but they are pretty ridiculous. Apparently in their last 50 some innings the Angels are yet to hit a post-season home run. Not only that, but over their last 70 some post-season innings they are yet to hold a lead larger than 1 run. Oh yeah, and of course they have lost now 10 straight against the Sox in the playoffs. Yummy!

TBS Tortures the Mets

As if their late season collapse wasn’t bad enough, TBS decided to rub some salt into the wounds of Mets fans with some of their billboards in Times Square. That’s because TBS decided to feature on their ads Mets slugger David Wright as an enticement to watch the playoffs. OOPS! Well, at least it was Josh Beckett with D-Wright up there as opposed to like Derek Jeter or something… However, if I were TBS I’d watch out for firebombs from angry Mets fans.

Who is Excited for the PLAYOFFS!

I know Prince Fielder is! What is it with the Brewers and the money shot, it’s like, as a team, they have the exact same fetishes. Maybe that’s taking team chemistry a little too far guys.
Anyways it’s PLAYOFFS TIME BABY! I’ll have my full predictions up tomorrow (I know you can’t WAIT) when we finally know who wins the AL Central, so long choking White Sox!

Root for the Black and Gold(en Showers)

The Boston Bruins used to be a proud and respected franchise. They went to the playoffs every season for over 20 years at one point, but these days find it impossible to get out of the first round, if they are even able to qualify. Right now the Bruins are fighting for their lives against their arch rivals, the Montreal Canadiens. If not for an overtime goal in game 3, the Bruins would be down 3-0 in their 7 game series. Understandably the fans have been frustrated. I, for one, gave up on the Bruins officially after they traded away Joe Thornton for nothing and he went on to win the MVP.

Boston does love its hockey though and the fans have been coming out for the playoffs. One fan, Walter Cutler, 40, took his love of the Black and Gold to a new level when he was charged with open and gross lewdness and disorderly conduct.

Getting arrested at a hockey game is not a big story. In fact, it’s highly respected and expected, particularly during the playoffs. But ol’ Walt took it a step further.

Please join us in this cause and sign the petition below so we can all share in this special and fantastic moment of baseball history. THANKS!
