Deron Williams is Really Good at Basketball

Chris Paul, Steve Nash and even Rajon Rondo seem to garner more headlines than Utah’s Deron Williams, but that’s OK, he continues to be one of the best point guards in the league, quietly going about his business up in Salt Lake City. Take for instance, this kickass crossover he lays on Dwyane Wade before he just SLAMS one down over the Heat defense. That’s the play of a superstar.

What is less than inspiring is how Wade just completely gives up on the play almost instantly. That’s some fine hustle there Dwyane.

Dwyane Wade Makes Varejao Rethink His Entire Life

On one end of the court LeBron James went in for a dunk only to see it get blocked by Miami’s Jermaine O’Neal and then on the other end Dwyane Wade drives HARD to the hole and makes Anderson Varejao look absolutely silly. Wade doesn’t dunk on just Varejao, I think everyone Varejao has ever known felt the reverberations from that; his third-grade teacher, his piano teacher, his dog all felt small after this one.

Atlanta’s Hawk Tries to Steal the Spotlight

Hawks Mascot BasketballI hate attention hogs; for instance, the Atlanta Hawks real-life mascot Spirit, normally the hawk that flies down from the rafters during the pre-game and then his duties are done. But before game 2 against the Miami Heat, Spirit decided he wanted to hang around, scope out the babes, maybe eat a rabbit…

With 8:28 left in the first, Spirit sat on top of the scoreboard, then flew around a little bit before coming to a rest on top of the Hawks’ basket, refusing to budge. Proving their mettle, the players all refused to take the court until the big bad bird left the basket. Ultimately, Spirit’s handler was able to coax him off the hoop and out of the arena, to big cheers from the crowd and some of the players.

Dwyane Wade, with moderate assistance from his teammates then led the Heat to a victory.
