This is quite possible one of the best saves I’ve EVER seen, in any sport. Simeon Varlamov of the Washington Capitals is out of position and has one of the best players in the NHL bearing down on him with the puck; he doesn’t panic though and reaches out with the edge of his stick and somehow, someway makes the save. Amazing. And this photo below captures the moment perfectly, click it to see a slightly larger version, but this save is simply remarkable.

Now That’s a Save
One of the best young players in the NHL, Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins knows his way around the ice, but when it comes to the kitchen, not so much. Here he is with Hall-of-Famer Igor Larionov’s daughter, Alyonka making pirogies for the Penguins website. You don’t usually see this much sexual tension in an internet video that doesn’t end up on youporn.
Alyonka, who was briefly on American Idol, also previously dated Alexander Ovechkin, who of course has a little feud going with Malkin’s teammate Sidney Crosby. Clearly Alex the Great doesn’t mind others going for HIS sloppy seconds.
This video is full of awkward and fun moments as the two share the kitchen, the tension is thick and thanks to Puck Daddy, here are some fun screencaps, unedited to provide a completely different version of the video.

Pittsburgh Penguins players Marc-Andre Fleury, Jordan Staal, Max Talbot, Kris Letang, Tyler Kennedy and Pascal Dupuis dropped by the construction site of their future home, the Consol Energy Center, to check on the progress and deliver a special thank you to the construction workers.
“We think it’s a great gesture for our players to say thank you in this small way to the men and women who are building the new Consol Energy Center,” said team president David Morehouse. “These workers have done a great job — especially during the cold weather of the winter months — and this is a token of appreciation from the team.”
That special token? Pizza Hut pizzas! Way to go all out there guys, why not slow it down a little, you don’t want to overwhelm the workers with such an outpouring of emotion. Maybe start small, give each of the workers a koosh ball or something…
