London Hot Olympian of the Morning: Russia’s Yelena Isinbaeva

elena-isinbaevaTo honor the London Games and the athletes participating in them, The Slanch Report will be bringing you THRICE DAILY a Hot Olympian of the Day. Each day we will bring you three (likely unknown-to-you) Olympians who, while maybe not quite worthy of a place on the medal stand, certainly are worth being placed on a pedestal for us to enjoy. Celebrate them all on the Hot Olympians page.

Russia’s Yelena Isinbaeva won the gold medal in pole vault at both the 2004 and 2008 Olympics, holds the world record and is a five time world champion. Basically, she’s the greatest pole vaulter ever (take THAT Allison Stokke!) Now 30, Isinbaeva still brings the heat but saw her gold medal reign end as she only won the bronze in London.

If she needs consoling, I’m here for her.
