London Hot Olympian of the Morning: Great Britain’s Tonia Couch

tonia-couchTo honor the London Games and the athletes participating in them, The Slanch Report will be bringing you THRICE DAILY a Hot Olympian of the Day. Each day we will bring you three (likely unknown-to-you) Olympians who, while maybe not quite worthy of a place on the medal stand, certainly are worth being placed on a pedestal for us to enjoy. Celebrate them all on the Hot Olympians page.

As part of the ramp-up to the Olympics the British diving teams were front and center, on the women’s side much attention was paid to Tonia Couch, 23, who would be competing in the synchro 10M diving event. Unfortunately, just as happened with Tom Daley, England’s much hyped male diver, Couch (and her partner Sarah Barrow) finished off the medal stand, a disappointing 5th, but hey, that’s better than in Beijing where she finished 8th!

While rumors have swirled for years about Couch and Daley potentially being an item, the two insist their relationship is more akin to a brother-sister. Also Couch is actually dating a soldier in the British army. Lucky bloke!
