London Hot Olympian of the Afternoon: Argentina’s Luciana Aymar

luciana-aymarTo honor the London Games and the athletes participating in them, The Slanch Report will be bringing you THRICE DAILY a Hot Olympian of the Day. Each day we will bring you three (likely unknown-to-you) Olympians who, while maybe not quite worthy of a place on the medal stand, certainly are worth being placed on a pedestal for us to enjoy. Celebrate them all on the Hot Olympians page.

Argentina’s Luciana Aymar is the only field hockey player to ever win the International Hockey Federation’s world player of the year award 7 times. She’s like, really, really good at field hockey. Called the “Maradona of [Field] Hockey,” Aymar, 34, has won the World Cup twice, has a silver and two bronze from previous Olympics and multiple Champions league trophies.

When it comes to being successful in field hockey, she’s the real deal.

Requested by a reader, I hope these photos provide you a fine enough example of her skill and talent.
