The days when the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition was the most important magazine to come out all year are long past, Maxim, FHM and many others made the Swimsuit edition moot. That said, the SI name still has cache and they are able to attract the best and hottest models, athlete wives and even athletes to appear scantily clad.
This year the magazine has announced that there will be three female athletes in the magazine, and that one of them is uber soccer hottie Alex Morgan. Now, I've waxed poetic about how I find Ms. Morgan attractive before (here and here) but the news that she is going to appear in the Swimsuit edition, in only bodypaint, ups the ante significantly. I'm officially excited.
