As the self-proclaimed worldwide leader in sports, ESPN has been covering every angle of the March Madness tournament, ironically, while they have plenty of airtime dedicated to watching people like President Obama or others filling in their brackets, ESPN employees won’t be doing so.
Apparently a few years ago some brackets filled in by some ESPN employees were left out at an arena, leading to accusations that the network might be biased in its coverage based on its employees picks to win. In order to avoid impropriety, ESPN has banned all employees from engaging in bracketology, a word ESPN made up.
Now, employees are not permitted to engage in any bracket activities at the office, although I wonder if that includes the ESPN bracket challenge which is on ESPN.com.
Bracket Busters indeed.
